Review: Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Born Wicked is the first book in The Cahill Witch Chronicles. It’s about three beautiful sisters who are very eccentric, young women. And they have a secret. Cate promised her Mother before she died, that she would always care for her younger sisters. This is the 1870s so she is of age to marry, and she has to choose to either join the Sisterhood or marry. She is drawn to Finn (the gardener) who is certainly not who people think she is suppose to be with. But while reading her mother diary she learns of a secret that could destroy her and her sisters. Witchery is illegal so Cate searches for a way to stop this from happening. This book is enchanting, and somewhat addictive. These sisters have a bond that is amazing, but not just because they are sister, but because they witches as well and want to keep each other safe. This binds them even more and very important to this story. The way the story is written there is a slow build up for exciting things to happen, which just make you not want to put the book down till you find out what happens next. And there are so many things happens, you can’ t help but to want and help Cate. Especially with Brotherhood. It’s a great story with witches, magic and forbidden romance. Now I just have to wait the for Star Cursed to come, so I can find out what happens with Cate, Maura, Tess and especially Finn.
